Tito Puenté Jr on the Main Stage at the Yonkers Riverfest

Completing the Riverfest’s amazing Trio of headline bands, is  the legendary Tito Puenté Jr, who will light up the stage with Afro-Caribbean Rhythms, Latin Jazz and Club Style music.  A Billboard Music Award winner, Tito and his killer line-up of musicians are festival, casino and theater favorites all over the world. Puente’s orchestra includes baritone, tenor and alto sax, one or two trombones and two trumpets. A five-piece rhythm section, with conga, timbales, bass, piano and trap set, completes the ensemble. The music is timeless, but there was a time in the 1950s, the “I Love Lucy” era, when Latin music permeated popular culture. Tito Jr. reveres the lasting impact his father had on our musical lives. “People who don’t know anything about Latin music know my father and people always, always smile when they say my father’s name,” he confides. “That is a very special gift I have been given.” These amazing artists will perform in addition to twenty-three other groups on 5 separate stages. Truly there will be entertainment...

Teen sensation Scott Helman signed on to co-headline the 2016 Riverfest

The 24th Yonkers Riverfest is proud to announce that rising pop star Scott Helman will be performing on our main stage this year.  Scott was voted #1 by Teen Vogue’s list of “14 Singers Who Are Going To Dominate in 2016.”  They said “The ultra-adorable 20-year-old Scott Helman is a singer/songwriter you’ll want to listen to on Spotify stat. His songs, like the sweet-as-sugar “Bungalow,” are so supremely catchy, you’ll feel like you’ve heard them before. They sound like a rom-com soundtrack come to life. He’s opened for major artists including Tegan & Sara and Shawn Mendes, but it’s almost certain that bands will be opening for him in 2016.” He’s a young man but it’s already been quite a journey for singer-songwriter Scott Helman. It was four years from a performance in a record company boardroom to topping the CBC radio charts and having a multi-format hit with his first single, “Bungalow.” And then, it was only another six months before he was touring the U.S. and Europe with...
